Trinity Moravian Church provides a variety of church opportunities and support through various ministries designed to reach out to the community through the loving hand of God. These groups and a brief definition are listed below:
Logos
The Logos Program is the theology and practice of Christian relationships in a four-part program of dinner, Bible study, recreation, and music. It is for students in grades 1-12. We meet on Wednesday nights during the school year from 5:30 to 8:15 pm.
Catechetical Class Mentors
Prepares young people who were baptized as infants to confirm their faith in Christ. Mentors meet with confirmands for 1 hour weekly at their convenience.
Gemeinschaft
This is a spiritual formation group. It provides an intentional and disciplined program which will enable people with faith to grow, to deepen, to experience, and to learn with the support of a small group.
Bethel Bible Series
In depth study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Two year program.
Transportation Ministry
Provide rides for Logos students to and from Wednesday meetings and field trips on occasions as needed. Additionally; transportation is available to and from worship services.
Boy Scouts
Provide educational, leadership, and service opportunities for boys 11-18 years old.
Stephen Ministries
Caregivers train to provide support within the church family and the community to those in crisis situations.
Congregational Care Ministry
Meets the various needs of the elderly, handicapped, and shut-ins.
Prayer Chain
A vital ministry that prays for the various concerns of the church.
Nifty-Fifties/ Senior Friends
Support ministry for those fifty and over.
Meals on Wheels
Picks up 12-14 meals at Pilot View Street and delivers them to homes on the Trinity route which runs from Academy Street to Park Boulevard.
Prodigals Community
Tutor basic literacy and basic math skills up through high school level. This is one-on-one tutoring in a room where other adults are also being tutored. Trinity Moravian works closely with Prodigals and provides a halfway house where throse successful at graduating from the program can transition to a more permanent living situation.
Sunnyside Clinic
A free clinic that provides health care on the first and third Thursday of each month starting at 5:00 pm
Sunnyside Ministry Support
Provides food , clothing and qualified financial needs to the Sunnyside community following an interview procedure at Sunnyside Ministry on Haled St. "Food Follies" held once a year.
Fellowship Ministries for Youth, Women, and Men
Men’s and Youth Softball Teams
Ministry through the sports connection.
Forsyth Prison Ministry
Provides mentors for male inmates. |
